Bill Kaulitz in a VOGUE interview: "I'm always for openness, no secrets"
In an interview with VOGUE, Bill Kaulitz talks about hair mistakes, the courage to be open and his own beauty brand.
Whether with green hair or exciting stage looks, Bill Kaulitz always stands out. The "Tokio Hotel" singer delights his fans not only with his music or the Netflix series " Kaulitz & Kaulitz ," in which he stars alongside his twin brother Tom, but also with his unusual hairstyles and unique makeup looks.
It's immediately apparent that our former cover star loves makeup and beauty experiments. Of course, his own brand couldn't be missing. Last November, Bill launched KAA Cosmetics and his first fragrance, "Heaven." We met the singer in August at the opening of the new Sephora store in Berlin* and talked to him about his love of makeup , past hair mistakes, and the courage to be open.
VOGUE: How do you care for your skin?
Of course, I don't do anything except drink water (laughs). Joking aside, I do a lot for my skin. Currently, I'm using salmon sperm , a snail slime serum, various masks, eye pads, a moisturizer, and various other serums. I use pretty much every beauty tool out there because I simply love trying new things. For example, I also have a red light lamp at home. My motto is definitely: more is more.
What does your exercise routine look like?
When it comes to that, I'm pretty lazy. I rarely exercise. I have a gym membership, but I only go to the gym occasionally. My workouts are our concerts. When we play a show, it lasts two and a half hours, and I get a lot of exercise in there. That's how I keep fit. When we're not on tour, though, I'm a bit lazy.
Speaking of fitness and health, what do you have for breakfast in the morning?
I don't really like breakfast. I usually start my day with three Americanos while I answer my emails. And then I often have a big lunch. When I'm on tour, I eat very healthy meals to ensure I have plenty of energy. If I do have breakfast, it's oatmeal with blueberries and strawberries . And I really enjoy cold-pressed juices. At home, I like to make myself a ginger or cucumber juice.
You've worked with many beauty professionals. What's the best advice you've ever received?
